The title of this post is a quote that says it all: “See the light in each other. Be the light for each other.” It’s not known who said it. But if ever there was a time when we’ve needed to have each others’ back, this is it.
“Sometimes all a person wants is an empathetic ear; all he or she needs is to talk it out. Just offering a listening ear and an understanding heart for his or her suffering can be a big comfort.” –
“Be the reason someone smiles. Be the reason someone feels loved and believes in the goodness in people.” –
“Be kind, for everyone you meet is fighting a harder battle.” –
Steve Hartman is a reporter for CBS News. He does the “soft” stories, those short feel-good human interest pieces that get tacked onto the end of the nightly newscast. You’d think someone like him is just marking time until he can do real reporting.
It looks to me like he really enjoys it. And I think his segments are many times the best and most important part of the entire broadcast. He shows the humanity in people.

Like everyone these days, Steve is at home with his family. He’s taken the opportunity to do a 4-part video series on ‘Kindness 101’ for kids — and us adults. These videos are great reminders of how good life is and how good people can be.
