DeWine reports that vaccinations are continuing for Ohio residents age 75 and above. Next week (February 1) people age 70 & above will be eligible. Then the following week (February 8) people age 65 & above will be eligible. DeWine also details plans for vaccinations in schools to enable a resumption of safe in-person classroom instruction.

DeWine announced that Ohio hospitalizations are down. If the trend sustains over the next period he’ll consider rolling back the statewide 10:00 curfew to 11:00 or beyond.

Frontline and healthcare workers, nursing homes (930 statewide) and assisted living facilities have been the first priority in Phase 1A. Starting this coming week, January 18-20, Ohioans age 80 and over will become eligible.
Along with COVID, DeWine talks about preparation for potential violence in coming days at the Ohio Capitol in Columbus. Following the U.S. Capitol siege in Washington, threats have been made against all 50 states and the Inauguration.
