All I Needed was a Hole in My Head

The Pictures
I posted this image to Facebook at the time: “I’m ready for my close-up, Mr. DeMille.” This was right after the first round while I was waiting to hear if I’d need to go back and have more flesh removed.
This is the hole in my head! At this point it was determined the entire cancer had been removed. The triangular shapes beside the hole are skin that was subsequently cut away so that everything could be pulled together flat and sown up.
These are the stitches after all was done.
This is how I look a week later with the stitches removed. Way better! But the wound is still tender to the touch — and God forbid I scratch an itch!!
